dr utpal banerjee i had known briefly while i was in asci. he was hiring manager. probably it was ideal place for him. alas it was not to be so. he joined asci from tata steel he was their computer manger. shortly after joining he was relieved of his duty by acting principal because he made a foreign travel but without any result. we too were asked to quit as soon as possible due to cost saving measure.
shortly after that i went to bahrain turning down initially in favor of new career move as economic data scientist for river canal based catchment area development for 50 plus years perspective. i had to abandon it and i do not blame anyone for my disappointment.
while i was in Bahrain i received a letter from dr. bannerji he wished to visit me on his way to some other destination. i made the arrangement and i picked him up from the airport. it was very late night in a deserted island. i walked but came back by taxi to my place. i was living alone a few yards from sea. my stay in Bahrain was coming to end i knew my time is up.
when i was leaving Bahrain i wrote a letter to him, if he could find me some opportunity in india. two brothers of computronics india piyush and vivek wrote to me. both offering me a job. piyush' letter came first and i replied to him. piyush came to meet me in calcutta and gave me sort of an appointment letter and asked me to join delhi software unit that was under vivek, his younger brother. there were few more of them verily making shines in india. one was heading vishwa hindu parishad, one was ig of delhi, one was secretary of tripura. vivek was again the go between India and soviet block for all technology co-operations. he started computronics and was agent of elorg for selling ibm plug compatibles in india. he was making all policy decision on technology and organizing technology transfer between two countries.
my tenure with the company was 1982 february to 1985 may. i did not enter any premise of computronics after some office bearers entered my home without my permission. i am friendly still with all knew at computronics. they are very best people from my past.
my home is holiest sacred when i am home. i am untouchable when i am home. i have earned my untouchability by the grace of me.
