i had long conversation with kanti sayeed ritadi raghu
i tried contacting uttam but he was not available

raghu asked me to see blade runner
i ordered them from library

ritadi talked about anupam whom i never met
they were at ritadi's place for dinner
she often talks about him
he is in usa
i never met him
she said he knows me
lot of people from isi know me because i was brother of kamal roy
he was 50 years in isi
i have done nothing memorable in my life
she told me about isi alumni annual dinner about my past acquaintances
rahada sibdasda gopeshda etc who came for the event about 35 of them
sajal did not come since he went for bangladesh tour

I asked sayeed to write
he can write in several languages
he has been in middle east for 3 or 4 decades
he has seen many places
he is devoted muslim

it shall be great pleasure to listen to him

I told sayeed you have taken and taken only
from your world for yourself and your family but you have not given anything
not even a glass of water to your world without return
before you leave the world you must do one single act for all those unprivileged who only provided for you and your family comfort
for your food shelter world tour and practice of religion
you read sufi poems
are not them
their memoirs for us to read and learn about ourselves

i know that i am selfish too but i write in public if someone by chance reads me
he or she may find an option practiced by me
a therapeutic cure for many decades I practiced
that did not help me

my only selfless gift for my world

I told kanti that her attitude to her world is right

    I disagree that you are known only because of your brother Kamalda. There is no doubt that Kamalda was indeed a intellectual & genius. But you are an entity by yourself. Me & Sayeed always felt that you are different from others & you indeed have lot of potential & creativity.

dinkar

dinkar was my colleague for one year at asci. when asci was breaking up after dr banerji, he wished i join him at new venture at patna an it service company. he promised me accomodation and food. i did not go. i had my dreams. i was fond of dinkar. he did some ms from us. his reason for ms was his inferiority complex - his wife was phd in zoology from ranchi. he was always bubbling loud with enthusiasm. he was very interested in quizzing and drinking.  he used to look forward to drinking at his home. he had a collection of records of folk music from caribbean island that he would play loud and sing loud. but his aim was to get knocked out at the end of the drinking session. the last episode. his wife would be silently watching his progress. after he gets knocked out, it is her responsibility to drag him to bed. nizwar another colleague of mine preferred to call him drinker. i used to live very far away from him in a hilltop stone cottage. on weekends he would travel  about ...
