about 10 years back i spent about 3 months at boeing
i was asked to stay back for some more time by the firm i was representing but i declined
it was not the kind of environment i could endure
during this time i visited the boeing facility where they make plane
it was about 4 miles stretch width about two miles and height of 5 storied building
where there were parallel assembly line of all passenger and cargo jets are being built
787 747 737 ... 707
dreamliner was very eagerly awaited to beat all competition to become the flagship of achievement
boeing is unthinkable technology corporation before being beaten by drug peddlers

it was truly breathtaking assimilation and demonstration of giant achievement
dreamliner itself is made up of nonmetal synthetic material so huge and without analogous description
the crane operators are in ceiling hanging so high and needed to be out frequently to cool themselves
many thousands are fitting parts to hulls inside and outside of the plane
hulls are being carried by the cranes
there are several things done in the planes at boeing assembly factory
body of plane, inside control and driving facility, air condition and electrical circuit
lastly they were fitted with jet engines
the passenger seat and other facilities as well as painting of the body is the buyer responsibility
color needed to paint body are several tonnes
painting facility was outside the main factory and the planes were transported into another facility that was linked with a bridge over a freeway
this facility had runway to test fly planes
during my stay at boeing i witnessed the maiden flight of dreamliner 787 though it was several years delayed
i am accustomed to hyped up technology achievements that of computer phone and software
it took me long time to digest the perfection needed for 100 years to make such giant flying ship
the reliability and perfection needed to transport many hundred passenger and cargo that can fly continuously over 10 to 15 thousand miles non stop without refueling
the dedication required from many thousands of engineers
dreamliners were designed to increase these limits by 30%
the unthinkable details and pre verification required to make them flying worthy i could not imagine
but i witnessed in person
