two women

last night I talked to mejo boudi
she is about 80 staying alone with two attendant and a rickshaw driver who takes her to some nearby places
she explained her situation
she is forgetful and do not like to depressed about herself
she keeps herself busy
writing stories
attending classes
writing exams
phoning people
planting and watering plants
keeping her three rooms tidy

I asked her about bhakti masi
i met her in 1994
she was in presence of her two sons and two daughter in laws
I saw one daughter in law jagu's wife first time
i also saw madhus son
i saw basu sadhu with long grey beard
with white pajama and colored banyan

bhakti masi smiling talked with me but deaf about
unable to guess what i was saying
shortly she left
i spent about two hours ate lunch

spent little time with all but bhakti masi
basu chain smoking
others drinking soft drinks

before leaving I looked uo bhakti masi
she went to sleep
she was thin but had long hair

mejo boudi said
bhakti masi eats very little sleep all the time
earlier she used to perform all her daily necessities but she is does not leave her bed
she is 96

didima lived till 97
she was very sharp with her senses
did her all work
bath puja cooking commanding
her two sons helped her to carry her different rooms to do her work when she could not move by herself
