means axis of planet earth. this physically points to Pole star. there is no rotation in Pole. it is still. can we have a geostationary satellite. rather two - one in north pole and the other in south. season dont change. six months long day and six months long night. summer is day and winter is night. about 30 miles diameter at the poles the temperature varies from -50 degree to 0 degree celsius. about 5 degree slanting of axis of orbiting earth makes differential temperature although core of the earth still is molten and causes earth's north south magnetic poles. magnetic axis is not aligned to orbiting axis. I am told they even may change polarity. North becoming south and south becoming north. Do other planets too are similar to earth. My knowledge is limited. I have not made these experiments with magnetic needle in red mars.

In this article I am told that southern half of mars is magnetic and not so the northern half. Anyway it is far weaker than earth's magnetism.
