democracy

for all my life i am living in democracy and was very intimate. i have not lived outside democracy. i had known politics and also intently following not virtue of association but alternatives. i never much cared. i had nothing but then i was not very envious of any who had. i lived on hand to mouth but not demanding. even when i did not have i was not chosy.

some of my friends had some political opinion. i simply had none. i lived within political violent time all around me. but no bullet touched me. at night i saw ghost like appearance who are doing surveillance and did not know why. funds are needed and how it is procured i did not know. they were perhaps collecting funds from businesses or wealthy in their territory. fight was against government hence police and armed forces. we used to stay in a rented house. eldest son was in police force perhaps. one night when i was returning home i found the family was waiting on the road for his return. situation deteriorated and center took the responsibility of maintaining peace. without knowledge police started rounding up young from every area and just started eliminating them indiscriminately at public sites to create terror. revolution ended.

politics remained with one tool ~ dharmaghat. this forced idleness. many holidays. i was not effected. i still had no opinion. i had no preference of party and their ideas. never voted.

there were wars. i had once seen one distant relation who was in army. after the first war with china, he was missing. i do not yet know why there was war with china but i lived in territories in total darkness for many months. but never saw planes flying overhead to bomb us. it was interesting living in total darkness for many months.

then there was war with pakistan and i was very aware of the same. it was chest thumping win with liberation of a country that was only few miles away where I lived and my ancestors belonged. thankfully it did not become part of the country belonged. some inked line do not disappear when there are migration of mass of people. people are not really birds. liberated land became a new country. since i had not visited that country before or after i would not know much it is language based or religion based. i did not care.

something however changing in my country fundamentally. ink of line drawn now about 100 years ago did not dry or disappear. it was becoming more religion based politics. it was not general welfare of all people. world had changed meanwhile. transportation had changed; communication has changed; technology has changed; more people to feed; more ambition ...

politics became redistribution of wealth. but wealth did not reach the have nots. it started accumulating in minority governed by government. religion fundamentally did not have any hope in a world that is fueled by science technology and wealth. religion prospers in an environment where there is struggle for survival on daily basis. world is changing but india took a turn from socialist system to fundamentalist system. It was inking lines of separation not on land but on the basis of temples or language of prayers.

ENGLISH HINDI URDU SANSKRIT ARABIC

I did not understand how language can generate wealth to bring relief to struggle of poor. in seventy years of life 70% of poor remained partially fed and unhealthy and unproductive.

i was poor and i had a family to support. i did like earn my wealth preferably and intellect was my only means and muscles. I migrated to country where i do not have to struggle on daily basis. my idea was not return with wealth.

i was like bird without a family to return.

i landed finally in USA in my past middle age. i did not think of dying here. but know now it is my home. i did not get involved here with its politics. the country was built with people who migrated due to compulsion for leaving. struggle for survival. they were more interested in severing their past with origin. unlike me who thought of prosperity of the country as a whole. Politics is supported by industrial corporation and financial institutions; politics is for their cause. there need be expansion of their business.

winning a new territory is expansion to business. prosperity and wealth.

time has changed. it is no longer possible to win any territory and govern. remote governance is not possible.

i am old now. my purpose has ended. i do not participate in democracy. i do not even have any choice.
