model
theory needs a model to make its logical derivations to hold good; in order to be taken seriously. theory cannot exist all by itself.
the elements or objects of the model are assumed to be commonplace but constructed otherwise with primitive building blocks such as numbers money people resources etc. model is required to show the theory is feasible or a possibility.
anil raises, intuitively not necessarily very deeply thought, topics of conversation. while i do not like to converse, don't mind a passing reflection of mine on that topic. anil observed the economic model of 10% affluents engaging 25% as service to their daily living is unstable and unsustainable in near foreseeable future for India. possibly he is interested in long term solution at national level for employment of household workers generating national wealth. he has his reasons. in west it is unthinkable to engage household worker. privacy is far more important than convenience.
many decades back, i did spend couple of years in making economic planning based on model of availability of water resources from a river and creation of dam canal system for its catchment area. it was intended that it should take into account food water electricity road infrastructure industry development planning as well required to meet growing human society in long term basis. It must also pay back the investment made by IMF.
Integrated water resources planning of groundwater flow from water dam canal operation for at least 50 years maintaining soil quality and agricultural yield and making available electrical energy around that region was required; besides, i was concerned about infrastructure development for population movement goods movement and required in that area. my base model, the area under consideration may be thought as stretched membrane with already existing natural potential factors of growth of some measured quantity ~ example road transport technology infrastructure, science technology education, expertise ...; and they must grow naturally with available resources and making exponential economic progress. at least to pay back cost of investment.
whatever be reason i soon had to quit working in this direction for rest of my life. although i did some more real time simulation for estimation of infrastructure requirements and general purpose simulators for studying systems not necessarily digital.
the service model in place in particular for india evolved over many generations; it is making available labors of very different kinds but predominantly trained for agriculture and household. today we also have labor as back up human devices for computing and communication devices required by business corporations in west. the education for later kind of labor is language and number of years training is limited to 1 year, and secondary school education. they can be remotely engaged with at least half cost that is required to engage onsite labor by corporations in the west.
this later kind of semi literate labor is not uniquely available in india. india has now competition from not only economically backward regions of asia and south america; it has become unaffordable for those country engaged them, due to economic slowdown and are becoming uncompetitive themselves. western economy has become unstable and unable to create produce and have become only consumer. western economic model today cannot profitably engage surplus labor from outside.
in a nutshell, every nation world over, need their independent economic model to survive from their own impending economic disaster. even in US the implementer of capitalism in their constitution is constrained and squeezed. it has lost out and unable to consume superior products from elsewhere; US is compelled to produce goods of lower quality and costing more within its own national boundary in order to avoid impending bankruptcy in 15 years time. It has $23 trillion national debt in $100 trillion world economy. Unsustainable.
the countries managing their economy well are china japan S Korea eu and russia.
